Seva (Selfless service) helps to unfold the latent divinity in us, put a ceiling on our desires, erase our karmic burden, experience the unity of all, awaken the awareness of God in all and helps us win the Grace of God. The Shaanti Bhavan Mandir provides numerous opportunities for Seva throughout the year, we encourage you to join us and experience altruism in motion.

Annual Car Wash
NMYG washes cars to raise funds to purchase school supplies for less fortunate
Grandparents Day Photo Shoot and Show
Provided haircuts, manicures and facials to seniors in nursing homes and senior centers
Donation Drives
School Supply Drives, Hygienic Drives, Coat Drives
Most recently, we shipped 2 barrels with hygienic items and groceries to victims affected by Hurricane Maria in Dominica
Feeding Homeless
Provided hot meals to individuals in shelters in Manhattan, Brooklyn and Queens
Sunny Grams
Created Sunny Gram for sick children in the hospital along with spending time in the hospital with them
Less Fortunate in Guyana
Provided hampers filled with groceries and a hot meals to seniors in Guyana along with school supplies for children in orphanages in Guyana
Donations
Your donations are instrumental in continuing the current programs and adding new programs. All mandir activities, including development of the new Mandir, are fully funded from donations and contributions from devotees and the community. Your kind and generous support in the form of financial contributions as well as volunteer work is what makes our programs, including the new Mandir development project, a true success.
